We need to carry out works at Beckton Sewage Treatment Works to allow the additional storm flows from the main tunnel arriving via the Lee Tunnel to be pumped out. The works would be contained within the boundary of Beckton Sewage Treatment Works, which is located on the north bank of the River Thames. The River Roding (Barking Creek) is to the east of the site and to the west a mixture of business parks and retail parks on Armada Way. The works would be carried out in two sites within Beckton Sewage Treatment Works as shown below.
