A street created by Sir Joseph Bazalgette over 150 years ago, when he founded London’s modern day sewerage network, yesterday hosted a drop-in consultation event for the capital’s proposed new ‘Supersewer’.
The drop-in, at 8 Northumberland Avenue, focused on our revised plans for a Thames Tunnel construction site at Victoria Embankment Foreshore, near Hungerford Bridge. It continues today (14 June 2012) from 2pm to 8pm.
The project team were able to answer attendees’ questions on a potential new design for the building that would be left when construction work is finished. The new design has been developed in response to comments received during the project’s second phase of public consultation, which ended in February.

Meanwhile, the London Wetland Centre in Barnes hosted the opening day of a similar consultation event for a proposed change to the access road, needed for work to intercept the combined sewer overflow near to Barn Elms Playing Fields.
