Approximately 50 people attended the opening day of our Thames Tunnel drop-in consultation event at the Beormund Community Centre, near the proposed major construction site at Chambers Wharf, Bermondsey.

Visitors included representatives from ‘Save Your Riverside’, a local group opposed to the Chambers Wharf proposals.

Attending from further afield were Lewisham residents wanting to find out more about the smaller combined sewer overflow interception site proposed for Deptford Church Street.

The Thames Tunnel team answering the questions was led by Phil Stride (pictured right).

The drop-ins continue at the Beormund Community Centre today (2pm-8pm) and tomorrow (10am-4pm). There will be another exhibition at nearby City Hall (The Queen’s Walk) on 18, 19 and 20 January (2pm-8pm).
