Our biggest week yet of Thames Tunnel consultation events starts today.
This afternoon our latest drop-in exhibitions open at the WWT London Wetland Centre (Queen Elizabeth Walk, SW13 9WT) and the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home (4 Battersea Park Road, SW8 4AA). We’re at both venues for three days (2pm – 8pm).
On Wednesday and Thursday (23 and 24 November) we’re also at the Glamis Estate Tenant’s Hall (414 Cable Street, E1 0AF), near King Edward Memorial Park, from 2pm to 8pm. We are back there on Saturday (26 November) too (10am-4pm).
The Beormund Community Centre (177 Abbey Street, SE1 2AN) is our base for three days from Thursday (24 November), from 2pm to 8pm (10am – 4pm on Saturday).
On Friday 25 November (2pm – 8pm) and Saturday 26 November (10am – 4pm) we will be at the Chelsea Academy in Lots Road (SW10 0AB).
Visitors to the drop-ins can ask questions about the project in general, or about the specifics of any proposed construction site.
We’re hand delivering leaflets publicising the exhibitions in areas surrounding each venue and have placed adverts in the local press.
This week, by invitation, we are also meeting residents groups from the Chambers Wharf area and Wapping.
On Thursday 17 November over 100 people attended the first day of our opening phase two consultation drop-in events at the London Rowing Club, Putney (pictured) and Creekside Centre, Deptford.
On Tuesday 15 November around 100 locals also had a chance to quiz Phil Stride at a public meeting on our proposals for Deptford Church Street. Chaired by the local MP, Joan Ruddock, this meeting was organised by ‘Don’t Dump On Deptford’s Heart’ campaigners.
